
After close to two years of total black out of CAF games on south Africa’s Multichoice owned super sport tv , the CAF champions league returns and majority of soccer fans particularly those in the sub-saharan region will watch it.
Super sport tv which happens to be the biggest television station for sports content in Africa blacked out on CAF content for two years.
In November 2019, CAF in a statement revealed that they terminated their agency contract with the French media group, Lagardere who Super sports used to buy their broadcasting rights from.
Lagardere was the exclusive agent for the sale and marketing and media rights of all CAF content and the termination of their contract by CAF meant a total black out of CAF content on Super sports tv.
However, In a statement released today by the sports television Channel, they have confirmed that they have acquired the broadcasting rights for the CAF Champions league final slated for this weekend.

“SuperSport will broadcast this weekend’s much-awaited TotalEnergies CAF Champions League final featuring Kaizer Chiefs against Al Ahly.”

“The match will begin at 9pm (CAT) in Casablanca on Saturday and will be broadcast on Channel 202 in South Africa, channel 205 in Nigeria and on channel 225 on the rest of the continent
Having secured the rights, Marc Jury, SuperSport’s chief executive, was delighted: “Games on the continent don’t get bigger than this and we are thrilled to showcase Africa’s best in a match of this magnitude. Two of Africa’s super clubs in a major final will no doubt boost fans in these challenging times.”
