Micho sacked| Who is Chipolopolo’s next coach ?

Serbian gaffer Mulitin Sredojevic alas MICHO has parted ways with the football association of Zambia on Mutual agreement after recording a series of loses in his last six matches with the Chipolopolo boys.

Micho was hired by the football association of Zambia-FAZ in February 2020 on a two years contract to help the out-of-form chipolopolo redeem their form and qualify to the Africa cup of nations which they later didn’t achieve making it three in a row to fail to qualify to the Afcon finals.

His other task was is to assemble a team that will qualify Zambia to their first ever FIFA world cup.

After failing to qualify the chipolopolo boys to Afcon , Micho told the Zambian media that he needed enough time and that had he started the qualifiers with Zambia they would have qualified.

He was in charge of four out of six of Zambia’s Afcon qualifier matches were he recorded two wins, one lose and one draw securing a total of 7-points out of a possible 12-points which saw the chipolopolo finish third below Zimbabwe and group leaders Algeria who qualified to the next year’s Afcon.

He received praise for his quick impact on the chipolopolo that had struggled in their first two Afcon qualifier matches away to Algeria where they were thrashed 5-0 and at home to their neighbouring rivals Zimbabwe who beat them 1-2.

He was also in charge of the Zambian local based select team that finished in the quater finals at the CHAN tournament in Cameroon earlier this year.

However, Micho has lost four games, won only one and drawn one with Zambia in their last six games.

Over all , the serbian gaffer has been in charge of 15 games for Zambia and has managed to record five(6)wins, four(4) draws and five(5) loses.

His most recent loss was against Lesotho and Eswatini at the ongoing COSAFA cup where the chipolopolo boys were beaten by both countries for the first time in the history of the cosafa cup.

The Serbian has become the fourth coach to be sacked by the Zambian FA in the last three years.

The Zambian FA will now have to look for a new coach in the next few weeks as upcoming FIFA world cup qualifiers were Zambia was drawn in the same group with Tunisia, E. guinea and Mauritania are set to start in two months time from now.
