The Zambian super league kicked off this weekend with ten matches played. However, the super league’s record winners Nkana football club lost their first league match at home to Nkwazi football club who beat them by three goals to two.

Nkwazi opened their score line in the 3rd and 7th minutes through Christopher Zulu and Nelson Mwila before Alex Bazo Ngo’nga pulled one back for Kalampa in the first half, sending the Zambia Police side in the lead at the break.

In the second half Nkana’s Ngo’nga scored again to complete his brace in the 71st minute to make it two all draw but it was in vain as Steven Matuma made it three for the Zambia police sponsored side to end the game 3-2.

It was a horrible debut for Zambian legendary goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene’s nephew Brandley Mweene who was newly singed by the Kitwe giants from Portugal as he conceded three goals in his first match for the club.

Nkana last season nearly got relegated from the Zambian top flight league and only survived on D-Day. However , it seems as though the Zambian giants will again be bullied in the super league this season.
