Kenyan international Jackson Jesse Were is going down in the Zambian champions Zesco United’s club records as a club legend.

Jesse this season became the first foreign player to score a 100 career goals for a Zambian club in football history.

The player went on to finish the 2020/21 season as Zesco United’s top scorer with 10 goals in less than 20 appearances this season.
He fired in 4 goals for the Zambian Champion’s final league match against Buildcon which ended 7-2 with the Kenyan walking away with the man of match award.

However, despite proving to be a key player for Zesco united and one of the best in the number seven ranked league in Africa, the 32-year old striker has not been called up to the Kenyan national team since 2019.

He last featured for the Harambe stars in the 2019 Africa cup of nations qualifiers where he did not make the final squad for the Afcon tournament.
Jesse has played nine(9) matches for Kenya, all starting from the bench and has not scored for the Harambe stars.
